Our desire for this video is to expose to the church the vastness of unreached places. Places where a loving God is unheard of. People that have no access to the truth. Where there is no worship…

This week the OFM team will be traveling to a place with no church, no believers, no worship of the true God. We’ll be producing a video that may bring awareness and prayer support to this area, but as always there are delicate paths to tread. Please be in prayer for the team as they try to capture the life of this people and the love God has for them.

Road Trip

Instead of airplanes, OFM used a Land Rover to travel to it’s last video production. Located in the picturesque Cherangani hills, overlooking the great Rift Valley to the east, Kapsowar is a small town known throughout the region as a place of healing. There is a mission hospital there, and few families of the Kalenjin population have been untouched by it’s ministry, both physical and spiritual. Dr. Paul Larson and family have lived and worked there for two years now and we had the privilege of capturing their life and the ministry of the hospital on video.

A Story in Rwanda

Andy, Tim and I were all moved by the story of Rwanda and of Phanuel Munezero, which will be featured in this video production. The Rwanda Institute of Evangelical Theology has a story to tell and a mission to accomplish. The many churches in that country are largely led by untrained and uneducated pastors, just as it was before the genocide. We’re looking forward to producing this video and website and are seeking the Lord’s guidance in the telling of the story.

Next Stop: Kigali

In less than a week Andy, Tim and I will be flying Kenya Airways to Kigali, Rwanda. There is an new Theological College there that has a story to tell and we are privileged to tell it. Pray that God will give us eyes to see and creativity to produce a video that shows how God is changing lives in Rwanda through the Rwanda Institute of Evangelical Theology. -Ted

Orientation Video

On Field Media has been asked to produce an orientation video that would better communicate the induction process for new AIM missionaries. This video will cover the three stages of Candidate Week (or equivalent ), Africa Based Orientation (ABO), and Inbound, which is the first two years of field service. The production will take some time as we’ll be filming the different stages as they happen.

In keeping with the design of the new AIMsites, which encourages missionaries to blog, photograph, video, and declare God’s glory through media, we’ve decided to merge our OFM site with AIMsites, given the similarity of the content.

Of course, our articles and photos are still available only to AIM mobilizing region media personnel. And did you notice our Flickr site now has all our photos in original resolution?

Mozambique Trip

Our last video production took us to the poor nation of Mozambique. In the north, along the coast are the colorful Mwani people. They are Muslim, more by culture than by personal conviction, but highly resistant to change and often hostile to the Gospel. Out of a hundred thousand Mwani people there are only 10 known believers.

It was our privilege to get to know two missionary families working among the Mwani. It has been a pleasant by-product of producing a video for a family that sometimes you also gain a friend. These two families have been working with the Mwani for many years and have many stories, many ministry opportunities, but not a large Mwani church. They are not discouraged, however, and cling fast to their obedience and position in Christ as to what they draw their value from. They are families that I would like to spend more time with, families that I can learn a lot from.

Having just arrived back from a North African country, we are beginning the post production process with 12 hours of video and over 1200 pictures! Hopefully, we’ll be done by the end of the month when Andy & I head off to Mozambique. We’ll be bringing along a guest writer, Mike Saum from Scott Theological College for that project. Soon after that, we’ll be producing a video for Moffat Bible College, and then off to another North African Nation for a major video production that will be used by over a dozen mission agencies. There’s lots more planned after that, but for now we have quite a lot to think about!

Christ in the Chaos

There are a lot of stories coming out of Kenya these days. Stories of hate, of violence, of death. At OFM we’ve been commissioned to find the other stories, the stories of the church acting like the church, of Christians acting like Christ. Stay tuned to hear the stories of love, of compassion, and of forgiveness.
